Through Trees to Pink Skies Oil Painting Andrew Gaia

This Original Landscape painting captures one of those rare moments in time where the orange sun and white clouds blend in such a way to create a marvelous pink hue. I almost missed this beautiful sunset as I was in the thick of Pennsylvania's lush woods. Even at a time where the leaves are just beginning to grow green, in the hope of spring, the multitude of trunks can easily block ones sight.

But as many of you know, that glowing sunset vibe draws us to find the perfect spot to gaze upon its natural gift. By climbing onto a rock cliff, I was able to find the perfect spot to peak through the forest. But, I was also able to capture a wonderful display of mirroring blues from the sky and rocks themselves.

It was like nature composed this image perfect for an oil painting. The sky, and river between me and the sun sparkled in pink. Rocks, bark and zenith of the sky emanated a rich blue. And then, the old leaves and sprouting growth marked a balance of red and green. And it all seemed to harmonize in such a way that makes me feel totally at piece and ease with this moment. A wonderful work of art by nature, I am so grateful to have captured.
