Iris Grasses Oil Painting Original Andrew Gaia Floral

There is nothing more sweet then the new growth of spring and its flowers. For this original oil painting, I aimed to capture the way new life just jumps in your face and causes an instant slowing of the mind. One moment to appreciate what is right in front of us, that's all it asks. So I took that moment and translated it into a visual work of art that we can all draw upon it to feel enlivened whenever we want.

The way this iris seemed to burst out of the grasses, reminds me of how we can all feel after being in hibernation for winter. Sure our petals are a little curled, and our friends haven't quite arrived yet, but it just feels so wonderful to finally stretch ourselves to the sun and take in its glow.

I painted this piece very much so in the same fashion, growing the grasses out from the earth/canvas, then onto the flowers out from the grass, as if sprouting from my earthly paint. I hope that the harmony of light greens and pink/purple hues really connect with you to harmonize your own feelings and give you at least one more smile for your day.
