From fires to flowers is an oil painting that followed its own name in execution. The piece started off very much so with an explosion of color and light. One that, at times, was difficult to control. The deep reds and purples where sprawling out across the landscape as I painted, leaving me very much so uncertain if I would be able to reel it back in. But, as I painted on, into the early morning hours, the petals of the blue bonnets began to pop out from the fire.

I just simply love how well the colors in this piece began to harmonize after placing what seemed like hundreds of color enriching layers. Then when I was just about exhausted, the blue petals popped from the field and "Fires to Flowers" was born. I am so happy to share this piece, the colors, and the depth of this piece with you. If you are a fan of blue bonnets and those spectacularly stunning sunsets, then this is the perfect piece to add some real rich color depth to any spot. I just love and know you will too.
