I just love the way the sky can light up in such a rainbow of colors. And I love it even more when I am able to capture that prismatic display of color and light with my oil paintings. This artistic piece is a snapshot from a simple day in my small town. It doesn't need neon lights, big shows or the latest tech to show me something that takes me into a full experience of beauty and joy. This is exactly why I love a simpler life in a place without too much grasping at my attention. If I was too lost in the various climbing industries, I would have never caught the beauty of the last ray of light on this day.

This piece came together so beautifully with all the subtle colors of greens, blues, purples and oranges blending perfectly with one another. As I painted each color, the oil just simply laid onto the canvas as if it was meant to be there. Sometimes a piece takes some problem solving, correction, twists and turns to become the beauty that is a final work of art. But just as this scene, is a moment of peace and tranquility, creating it was very much so the same energy. So I know whoever owns it in the end will experience a work created out of that pleasant space... until it is passed down for another to enjoy and draw inspiration from.
