The original Pink Lotus Oil Painting is inspired by the miraculous nature of the lotus flower to grow in any situation.I love the concept that the brilliantly colored lotus grows itself from the muck and waste of the local swamp. But instead of focusing on the muck in this piece, I emphasized the beauty and magic in the environment. Then, through brilliant blues, pinks, oranges and subtle greens, I was able to create a really calming Lotus flower that simply pops off the board with the varied texture and paint handling. I feel, quite often, that life hands us challenges too unfair for how good we are as people. But with this oil painting, I am reminded that it is our challenges that gives us strength and compassion to do and be the most good, I love it!
