Green in the Air

Shades of Green

You should have seen the sky today, omg it was so beautiful. It was kind of cloudy and bummy all day, nothing but grey for miles, and I figured that it would just be a wash. But then my mom and borther asked if I wanted to get some sushi and ofc, I’m like heck yeah. It was pretty delicious and we pack up and head out. But on the way home, the carpet of grey clouds began to roll back, shifting ever so slightly blue. And as it did, it revealed this amazingly beautiful green sky with fluffy yellow clouds dancing at the horizon.

As we continued on the way, the clouds rolled back more and more revealing this wash of soft greens, warm yellows and the contrasting blue sky. When I see green in the sky I love it, but rarely is it so vastly green like today, from edge to edge. And the shade, it was like something I havent seen in a long time, years even. Not a soft blue green, or a transitional between yellow and blue, but that perfect spot where a soft green blends with orange just so subtly the the green warms and doesn null. It was so spectacular, and then you add the soft yellow clouds below and the solid sheet above to frame it, such a magical display of color and light.

Lets See What The Stones Say

Wellllll because I am feeling particularly naturey at the moment, I figured a good time to ask my river stones what they think. Funny story about how I learned to read my runes. You know matter where I live I always manage to find a spot nearby filled with nature and quite. I visit these locations often and come to find them as little sanctuaries that I can retreat to when society gets a bit too loud. Always demanding attention lol. One of these locations was a little stream, tucked between two levies and totally filled with growth and green. I always thought it funny how I was the only one there, like how does no one know this is right here….. or maybe they just cant see it?

But anyway, my son and I used to collect rocks he liked and we gathered a few of them up over time. Usually we end up bringing them back but their were some small ones we kept.  And when it was time to leave that place we were walking the town and stumbled upon an old libraby that was getting rid of their books. And tucked away in these books was a little one about runes and the interpreting of them. Ofc I had to grab it because it seemed like it was burried in the pile just waiting for someone to find it. So I grabbed my grinder and had just enough river rocks to transform into my set and I began using them to help guide me through questions a mind could not answer. So, with me feeling particularly open at the momeny, I figure, lets see what they say today.

Oh thats kind of interesting, Fehu, cattle, nourishment… the rune of fufillment. It speaks of nourishment from the world and from the spirit, in goods but also inner wealth. It speaks of looking toward yourself for what is the path that truely make you feel fulfilled and nourished. I appreciate that the word nourishment was used over abundance or possession or gain because it hints at an enriching beyond just what you touch. Its a feeling of being completely yurself and strengthened from within in order to better display out into the world. Then it speaks of how true nourishment pours out in healthy ways to share, to uplift to hold back the brush to allow others to pass. It reminds me of the Tao and how it hints at the subtle essence of the universe being the real decider of truth and flow, not what may appear on the outside. That beautiful sky today nourished me in ways that opened me when I did not expect. No, you could say its just another normal day, but I feel it brighter now because I saw what the world had wonderfully given me. I think thats one reason I love this old little book, its from a time before things were son constructed and regulated in language, so it exploed things in different ways than you see now. It was not some guy writing a book, it was someone sharing the noursihment of their own experience so that another could find it and feel nourished as well. And now i have the word nourish bouncing in my head and after some tasty sushi and a beautiful sky, I feel ready to take another step for the day.
