Wind

The Wind

Do you ever just listen to the wind? Let it speak to you, let it answer what mysteries might be swirling in the air. Do you ever sit still enough so that the wisdom not found in words can enter into you and center your core in a way that no lecture or book or lessno could ever do? Its not usually in some yes or no, or some kind of “this is it” kind of moment. But it feels more like the wind reminds me to take the space to listen to whats inside more clearly. To hear what is deep, rather than what is intepreted by the mind or emotions. Its not that it hits you with some big shove either, even though the clarity may in fact be powerful. But more like it offers a peace in a gentle way that makes sense before the world of 10,000 things has the chance to bend it. And what is uncovered in peace and clarity does not need to fight because it is. And then theirs always this wonderful space after, where I just feel, I just express, and I just am alive with the wind, with the peace, with the clarity. Sure the world always comes back with its challenges, but the truth of my spirit is more solid, more stabalizing, more real.

I was listening to a book call the Alchemist, a book that appeared in my life in a strange way, Syncronicity as some like to call it. I had to go to a meetnig that I was not supposed to go to, but had to cover for another friend of mine. And, as it turns out, the person who was supposed to meet me only had a moment to talk so I kind of got left in this big empty building to entertain myself. Well, their happen to be an event happening there the following day and just one of the vendors showed up early to setup. So I offered to help and we chatted it up a bit and at the end of the conversation the Alchemist was recommended to me. Normally I dont dive into things unless compelled to do so, but for whatever reason I decided to give it a listen.

Well the reason I brought that up was because later in the book, the protagonist is speaking to the wind. And all throughout the book the writer points towards symbols and signals in life that lead people towards their personal story. And really it just made me think about just how often I listen to the world around me. The wind, the stars, the rays of the sun, the shimmering of the leaves, they all kind of speak to me in their own ways. Not like it tells me do this or do that or be this or that, but it always affords me a little more peace to look at things clearer. So I just wonder about the wind and how it speaks. Does it even say anything, or does it just help guide me to listen to the depth inside myself.

Touch

Sometimes I think back on my life and focus on expereinces that stand out, not necessarily in intensity but in depth. One of the things that has always held with me are the deeper expereinces of touch. I recall times where the feel of materials felt relaxing and calm. I recall other times where the soft warmth of my pets fur helped me to feel connected and caring. Then their are times where I have reached out to touch and it taps into my own outward expression of care and love. I am reflecting now on all that goes into something as seemingly simple as holding a hand. How much range can be in that act, how it can vary so wildly depending on who you are holding, why you are holding and what you feel when you touch like that. And I think of the depth and belonging that happens when you hold the hand of someone you are loving and that is loving you back. Its not just heres my body and heres yours, but….don’t worry love, I’m with you in every way.
