The Lion and The Hunter | The Face of Terror

$12.00$23.00

The Lion & Hunter Poster was inspired from an old story my father used to tell me as a child.(Warning, it’s a little scary and deadly for kids) In the story, a village was being terrorized by a mysterious beast. They tried all their traps, all the local hunters and no one could find out what this beast was. So, forget about hunting it, until…. One of the villagers contacted a strange old hunter. He was a loner  type beastly man, who spend most of his time away from others. He hunted using only one long stick and one short one. He walked to the village leader, took the supplied demanded for his journey, and turned into the woods.

It was weeks of tracking and hunting of this beast, it seemed to know of man their habits. The hunter followed this beast up to the top of the mountain, when it began to snow. The hunter tracked this beast to a cave, and he could tell by the fresh tracks, that the monster was inside. As he edged the opening of the cave, he heard a distant rustling. He adjusted his girp, on the shafts of both his tools as he took a step forward. Suddenly, a massive lion dives out from the pitch black dark of the cave, and flies towards our hunter. Startled, but not totally lost, the hunter bounces into action. He drops one end of the long stick into the ground, pointing the tip toward the lions belly. He then drops his grip on the short stick, ready to defend. As the lion comes crashing down, the large stick impales it’s stomach. Thinking he has won, the hunter begins thrusting the short stick into the lions chest, trying to finish the beast off. But, this goliath of the mountain was too large and to powerful to go down alone. As he slid to his death, the lion clasped down onto the hunters head.

The village did not hear from either one for months, and in order to pay their respects, they sent out a search party, next season. They ultimately made their way up toe the top of the mountain where the hunter and the lion fought. And outside the dark cool cave, they find two skeletons intertwined. The Lion, with a large and a short stick poking through its body. And the Hunters skull, was found with 4 holes, 2 on each side, for the lions fangs that punctured his skull as his life slid from existence. The two greatest hunters destroyed one another, in a fantastic display of skill and nature. Now, Good night! At least that’s how my dad ended it.

So pick up this Lion & Hunter poster, if you like to be reminded of the wilder things in life!
