Assassination of Ramses III | Historical Illustration

This Historical Egyptian Ramses III Poster was developed because of an interested article I read, uncovering some interesting facts.  Scientists believe that Ramses III was, in fact, murdered, rather than passing of normal causes. It was the new thought, that the Wife of Ramses III, and her son, wanted control over Egypt, so the devised a plan to assassinate the Pharaoh. The idea is sparked by the evidence, discovered through MRI scanning, that showed scarring and added fabric around Ramses throat. This MRI scan showed that the Pharaoh had very possibly dies from a wound on his throat, and no other cause. I find Egyptian culture so fascinating, in fact I am a very small part Egyptian as well. But I just had to create a historical simulation, of what might have happened hat day.

For the Historical Egyptian Ramses III poster I create a narrative that places us above the Pharaoh king. Which is a little unusual, considering how human like to protect their power figures. But I also wanted to show the depth of the incident, by illustrating pain and suffering in the assassin. As you can see, he holds scaring on his back from several whippings. The concept drove home the idea that this Pharaoh was not the best leader, using his power to torture, even, his own son. So while violence and murder are not the best life choices, we can see how pain and suffering would drive someone to act insane.

If you love historical Egyptian Mythology and legend, then pick up this piece and see if you can uncover the truth of what happened to Ramses III.
